Refund policy
Hunters Fine Jewellery Return Policy
We want you to feel confident with every purchase, and we're here to help if you need to make a return.
General Returns
We offer a 30-day returns period from the date you receive your order for eligible items.
Items should be returned in the same condition as received, with any original packaging supplied. You may inspect and try on an item as you reasonably would in a shop, but we may make an appropriate deduction from a refund if an item has been used, damaged or handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it.
Please contact us before returning an item so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.
For change-of-mind returns, return postage is normally the customer's responsibility unless we agree otherwise.
Where required by law, the cost of our standard outbound delivery service will also be refunded when an eligible order is cancelled in full. Any additional amount paid for an upgraded or premium delivery service is not normally refundable beyond the cost of the standard delivery option.
UK Returns
Please contact us before returning an item so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.
Where appropriate, we may provide a prepaid Royal Mail return label by email.
If an item is faulty, damaged on arrival, incorrect or not as described, we will arrange and cover the appropriate return postage.
For change-of-mind returns, return postage is normally the customer's responsibility unless we agree otherwise. If you arrange your own return, please use a tracked service, retain proof of postage and ensure higher-value jewellery is adequately insured.
International Returns
Please contact us before making an international return so that we can provide the correct return instructions.
International returns should be sent using a tracked and appropriately insured postal or courier service. Customs documentation must be completed accurately and should identify the shipment as returned goods / goods being returned to the seller, where appropriate.
Any import duty or tax paid when the original order entered your country is not received by Hunters Fine Jewellery and cannot normally be refunded by us. You may need to contact your local customs or tax authority regarding any reclaim that may be available.
Customers are normally responsible for return postage on change-of-mind international returns unless we agree otherwise or applicable law requires otherwise.
Order Cancellations
If you wish to cancel an order before dispatch, please contact us as soon as possible.
For eligible unfulfilled orders, a cancellation request may also be submitted through your customer account within 24 hours of placing the order. A cancellation request does not automatically cancel an order and will be reviewed before being approved.
We may prepare and dispatch orders sooner than 24 hours, so if an order has already been dispatched or fulfilled, it may no longer be possible to cancel it before shipment.
If an eligible order has already been dispatched, this does not remove any applicable statutory cancellation or return rights.
For UK online purchases, customers generally have the right to notify us of cancellation within 14 days of receiving the goods, followed by a further 14 days to return them, subject to the exceptions below.
Our voluntary 30-day returns period may provide additional time for eligible items.
Custom, Personalised & Altered Jewellery
Goods that are made to your individual specifications, clearly personalised or altered specifically at your request cannot normally be returned simply because you have changed your mind.
This may include bespoke commissions, personalised or engraved jewellery, and jewellery manufactured or altered specifically to measurements or specifications agreed with you.
This does not affect your statutory rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
Pre-Owned Jewellery
Pre-owned jewellery that has not been altered after purchase is covered by our normal returns policy where eligible.
Items that have subsequently been altered or modified at the customer's request cannot normally be accepted as change-of-mind returns.
This does not affect your statutory rights where applicable.
Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items
Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy.
If an item is faulty, damaged on arrival, not as described, or we have sent you the incorrect item, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can arrange the appropriate remedy and return method.
Refunds
Once an eligible return has been received and inspected, the refund will be made to the original payment method.
Where statutory cancellation rights apply, refunds will be made within the timescales required by law. For UK distance-sale cancellations, this is normally no later than 14 days after we receive the returned goods or satisfactory evidence that they have been sent back, whichever applies first.
Any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect an item may be deducted from the refund where permitted by law.
