A fabulous antique boxed Essex crystal stick pin with pointer dog scene, 15ct yellow gold.
This pin features a domed crystal with an exquisite pointer dog scene. The white dog displays brown patches and wears a red collar. It stands on green foliage and has an excellent grey iridescent background. The animal has been carved into the back of a cabochon rock crystal and then painted in minute detail with fine paintbrushes. It floats in three dimensions inside the crystal when viewed from the front and is offered in fabulous condition.
These stunning Essex crystal pins are becoming very rare to find at such good quality. Like many similar items of the period, the piece is not stamped but tested as 15ct gold.
